What is it about?

In May 2020, the EU Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators (ACER) was informed by the regulatory authorities of Estonia, Finland, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland and Sweden, members of the Baltic capacity calculation region (CCR) - that they could not agree on the proposal made by Transmission System Operators in those countries for a capacity calculation methodology for the long-term timeframe.

The proposal was made in accordance with Article 10 of Commission Regulation (EU) 2016/1719 of 26 September 2016 establishing a Guideline on Forward Capacity Allocation. ACER is therefore competent to decide on this proposal in accordance with Article 4(10) of the same Guideline.

In order to take an informed decision on the proposal for amendments, ACER seeks the comments of interested stakeholders on the topics presented in its consultation.

All interested stakeholders are invited to submit their comments by 24 August 2020, 23:59 hrs (CET).
