Overview

On 25 January 2023, the national regulatory authorities (NRAs) of all EU Member States, referred to ACER a proposal of all Transmission System Operators (TSOs) for the amendment to the methodology for calculating scheduled exchanges resulting from single day-ahead coupling pursuant to Article 43 of Commission Regulation (EU) 2015/1222

Why we are consulting

The main amendments that TSOs propose are on how scheduled exchanges between the Nominated Electricity Market Operators (NEMOs) trading hubs are calculated. In particular, ACER invites input on:

  • The calculation of the scheduled exchanges between NEMO trading hubs; and
  • Any other necessary amendments.

Other parts of the proposal remains unchanged compared to the current applicable day-ahead scheduled exchanges methodology.

ACER will assess whether the TSOs’ proposal contributes to market integration, non-discrimination, effective competition and the proper functioning of the EU electricity market.

ACER invites interested parties to submit their views by 29 March 2023.

Next steps

ACER has six months (until 25 July 2023) to decide on the TSOs’ proposal.
