2026 EU Agencies Regatta

The EU Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators (ACER) is proud to organise the 9th EU Agencies Regatta, bringing together sailing enthusiasts from across Europe. This year’s regatta is special also as it coincides with ACER’s 15th anniversary.

When & where?

The regatta will take place from 2 to 4 October 2026 in the waters of Piran Bay, a scenic coastal area between Slovenia and Croatia.

The bay is known for its calm waters and steady winds. Early October typically brings pleasant autumn weather, with average daytime temperatures around 16-18 °C.

The fleet

All crews will race on identical Beneteau First 18SE boats. Each crew may include a maximum of 4 people. 

The option to hire a skipper is available for race days, and teams can book an optional one-hour training session on Friday.

Friday 2 October (afternoon)

• 15:00-18:00: Meet the boats and practice hour
• 19:00-23:00: Reception party

Saturday 3 October

• 09:00-10:00: Reception and skipper briefing
• 10:00-13:00: Round-robin races, round 1
• 13:00-14:00: Lunch break
• 14:00-19:00: Round-robin races, round 2
• 20:00: Dinner

Sunday 4 October

• 09:00-10:00: Reception and skipper briefing
• 10:00-14:00: Round-robin races, finals
• 14:00-16:00: Lunch and prize-giving ceremony

The notice of race will soon be made available.

Races will take place in Piran Bay, with the marina based at San Bernardin, Portorož. As popular tourist destinations, Piran and Portorož offer a wide range of accommodation options.

ACER has secured discounted rates at Grand Hotel Bernardin for regatta participants. Learn more about the discount and logistical arrangements. 

Accommodation costs and dinner on Saturday are to be covered by participants.

Registrations are open to teams from all EU agencies.
